Changes are Coming Our Way

Well everyone, it's official. Some big changes seem to be on the horizon for me and Mike. As most of you know, Mike is nearing the light at the end of the tunnel with school, well at least with his bachelors. He is graduating in Accounting and he has landed an internship with one of the "Big 4" accounting firms, Ernst & Young. (known as EY at our house). This is an exciting, yet kinda scary opportunity because it is located in SAN JOSE, CA! He is moving there for 8 weeks this summer, starting on June 25th. Yes, you heard me right, HE is moving to California for the summer and yet again I will be staying in UT. But,I am so excited for him and I think I can handle him being gone because this is going to be a great experience. (Plus we will fly back and forth for visits, the perks of being married to a Delta employee)
Now the reason I say it is scary and exciting is that when this internship is over, there is a good chance he will get a job offer, at none other than the San Jose office, and yep, you guessed right, we would be moving.
Ok so I am jumping ahead of myself. If all of this happened, we wouldn't move until probably fall of next year, but for someone who has lived here, in UT her entire life and been close to family for so long, it is going to take some time to get used to the idea. So I am starting now.
I have been doing some research on San Jose, and these are some of the pics that I found that I thought were pretty cool.
This is a jumbo chess set, set up on the sidewalk in downtown San Jose. I get the impression it is a pretty artsy city. It will be fun to check out some museums and things.
This is one of the museums.
I just love the fact that there are palm trees lining the streets downtown.
This is an old stone bridge in a park. It looks like there are so many beautiful parks in San Jose. A great place to spend a Sunday afternoon with Mike and a good book.
Ok, now this is my most exciting find. This is the Winchester Mansion, and if you don't know the story behind it, I suggest you google it. It would take me way too long to tell it, because I am so intrigued by it and I would throw in way too many details. But basically, it is supposed to be haunted, and it is in San Jose. And I am so curious about it. . .ok but anyway, google it.

So that is basically what is going on with us right now. Jusy trying to get Mike through this semester, so we can play for a minute before he leaves. Wish us luck!

I am so dang jealous. Everyone gets to leave Utah, but me. Now my only hope is that Brooke will stay here. Not that I don't love Utah, but I would love to live somewhere else for awhile. I hope everything goes well and we will have to have some fun girl nights while he's gone.

Hey Paige, I am glad that you found me, I've been meaning to go and stalk marcie's blog friends. Sounds like you have a fun and exciting life, I am with you on leaving, but where you don't have kids yet, go for it. I would love to have done more before I had kids!!

Wow, congrats to Mike. That is awesome! I would be scared too, Paige! You should talk to Rachelle (she is on my friends list on Facebook if you don't have her info still). I'm pretty sure she is from San Jose. Darci and I even visited her once and it was way fun. Prety close to San Fran which is one of my favorite places in the world. Plan on me visiting (now how do you like that self-invite)!

That is so exciting! I am like you in that I am kind of scared to move outside of Utah, but I think it will be kind of fun. We need to get together for a girls night soon!

Paige, if you end up going-I think you'll really love living outside of Utah for a while. It's fun to have it be just the two of you, and you'll meet so many new people. And you can always fly home to visit. I think you'd really love it for a while.

Paige, living outside of Utah was the best thing for me and Graham. It was hard at first, but honestly, the hardest times were the major holidays. We met so many great friends and had a great time being with each other. We love being back here in Utah, but we miss a lot of things about living outside of Utah. It was be a great experience for you guys! That is exciting!

The painful life of an accountant! We should get together sometime before Mike takes off for the summer. Take it easy.

I've been to the winchester mansion and it is awesome. Great designs and haunted stories. You have to see it plus its across the street from one of the biggest malls ever. Great shopping.

Will you pack me in your bag and take me with you when you go? That looks so beautiful. We will come visit you when your there for sure. Even if I have to sell me first born child to get there! (O.K. not really) But I will try me hardest. I've heard of the Winchester Mansion, and I want to go there so bad. We'll make plans.
